About Bassam Saad

Bassam started his music journey by learning how to play the Violin at the age of 10 under expert Armenian and Soviet tuition at the Aleppo Music Institute – Syria, and has continued playing while also pursuing his civil engineering studies.

In 1985, Bassam joined the Syrian Group for Chamber Music, The Damascus Chamber Orchestra (1989), The Syrian Symphony Orchestra (1990).

Bassam has since performed in events around the world including in Lebanon, Tunis, Morocco, Spain and Canada. In 1994, he attended a course and a workshop in the Chamber Music in Orleans – France.

After teaching the violin and theory in Aleppo Music Institute since 1982, he became the director of the institution in 1993, where he established Aleppo Group for Chamber music, and performed many concerts in Aleppo and Damascus.

In 2002 he joined Dubai Chamber Orchestra and UAE philharmonic Orchestra until 2012 when he moved to Jeddah-Saudi Arabia.

In Jeddah he continued teaching and performing violin in the French Consulate and KAUST (King Abdullah University for Science & Technology).

Teaching the technique of violin playing with a focus on Russian, British and Japanese methods resulted in having brilliant students who have won prizes in GCC Virtuoso Music Competition in Dubai in 2015 and 2017 and recieved high-grade certificates from TRINITY College and ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music).
